Originally founded in 1952 as the manufacturer of mechanical variable speed drives under the registered name of "Ringcone". NSC currently encompasses the following product divisions: Power Transmission Equipment, Measuring Instruments & Power Electronics, Arts & Crafts Equipment and Factory Automation Systems.

Nidec Corporation: Boasts $1.5 billion in annual sales, dominating over 70% of worldwide market share for hard disk drive (HDD) spindle motors. Other products include precision DC brushless motors, AC motors and power supplies as well as pivot bearing assemblies.

Nidec America Corporation: The U.S.subsidiary of Nidec Corporation with offices in Massachusetts, Connecticut, California, Colorado and Minnesota. Manufactures fan motors and power supplies in addition to distributing the products manufactured by Nidec Corporation.
